She has travelled and met friends in many spaces with many different faces and she has stories to share from those experiences. Oh, and she loves to rhyme. These books are meant to bridge gaps and pass from generation to generation with important messages and spectacular imaginations.

About the Author
Janae Washington is the creator and author of the Rocki Reed Adventures series, following an adventurous eight-year-old Black girl who loves math and science. Inspired by her passion for storytelling and representation, Janae created Rocki Reed to spark curiosity, encourage literacy, and show children, especially those from underrepresented communities, that they belong in every space, from classrooms to STEM careers.
With a background in writing, media, and community engagement, Janae empowers young readers through stories that reflect their identities, nurture imagination, and inspire big dreams. She shares Rocki’s message in schools and community programs, leading interactive readings that encourage kids to embrace their uniqueness and see the possibilities within themselves.
More than a book series, Rocki Reed Adventures is a movement to celebrate diversity, build confidence, and make learning fun.
